RSVP – Retired and Senior Volunteer Program
RSVP engages individuals 55 and older in volunteer service to help meet community needs; and to provide a high quality experience that will enrich the lives of volunteers..
Volunteers are matched with students grades K-5 in all four elementary schools in Oelwein who have been identified by the school as being in need of assistance.
They listen to students read and discuss what was read, help them practice writing, assist students with specific assignments and have lunch at the school once a week with their matched students.
RSVP of Oelwein is part of RSVP of Black Hawk County, which is sponsored by Covenant Health System.
