Salute to Small Business PDF Print E-mail

Small business owners employ about 65% of the workforce in a community.
Small business account for 3 out of every 4 new jobs in this country.
Small businesses are not afraid to try new ideas, offer new products or services.
Small businesses are willing to provide services and products to local consumers that large companies don't see as being a profitable or needed market.
Small business owners typically give about 3 times money per employee to community activities such as sponsoring a softball team, a fund raising project, or a community improvement project when compared to larger companies.
Small business owners give one of the most important gifts: their time. They often serve on a school board, city council, church committees, or are members of service clubs. They help to provide leadership and direction for a community. For a community to flourish, the necessity of small business to survive and thrive is essential.
