Friday Night Downtown Park'n

Third Friday each month in summer - sponsored by Oelwein OddRods Club. Car enthusiasts welcome to park 6:00-10:00pm and enjoy sharing their enthusiasm for vintage cars. Complete with hot rods, door prizes, DJs. No charge for car owners or spectators. (Quote: "...it is different each time. Celebration Oelwein

Our annual old fashioned Fourth of July celebration includes a parade at 10:30am, entertainment, contests and games, food, boating, car show, and Miss Oelwein Contest at City Park during the afternoon and evening, and fireworks show at dusk.

Oelwein Car Show

During July 4 Celebration at City Park. Door Prizes, 50/50 Drawing, 50s-60s Music, Dash Plaques for first 100 cars, 22 different classes, 71 trophies. People's Choice Award, 5 Special Trophies. Olde Tyme Christmas...

Santa arrives in a horse-drawn carriage. Activities include pictures with Santa, strolling carolers, the Melody Moms, and other musical entertainment, Christmas tree display and contest, Grinch contest, carriage rides, live windows, the famous fruitcake toss, a holiday market and craft show at the Plaza. Stores will be open for holiday shoppers!

Oelwein City Park and Campground. City Park offers boating, fishing, trails, playground equipment, and picnic area. Modern site (electricity, water and AC) is $12 per day or $70 per week.
